BRENT'S DIARY

Saturday January 8th we were back at Rooters.  It seems we play this room alot, huh?  Anyway, this was a special night for a few reasons.  Our bass player Cary Schultz did his official farewell performance with Rhythm Method.  We had a lot of laughs onstage and this was probably one of the more animated shows we've ever done.  The energy and interaction between band and crowd seemed especially in sync on this night.  We will miss Cary a lot as he had provided much/most of our onstage energy since he joined the band, on top of being about the nicest guy any of us has ever met not to mention an incredible bass player and singer.  We truly do understand the circumstances concerning his leaving the group, but despite brutal and repeated ass kickings, weren’t able to change his mind about doing so.

We were also celebrating Bob's birthday on this night.  He turned 50 on the 8th and we couldn’t help noticing how well preserved he is for being a middle aged man.  Soon we'll be guiding him out with a walker to sing your favorite hits from the 70's and 80's complete with Ozzy Osbourne style lyric teleprompter.  Ok, Bob isn’t 50 or middle aged but admit it, you thought to yourself....  could he really be that age?  He's actually gripping tightly on to his 30's and has a bit of time before the big 40 - but you can be assured if the band is still together at that point he will be the victim of some ruthless pranks and razzings.  Thanks to everyone at that sang the alarmingly loud rendition of Happy Birthday to him after the final encore.  You saved us in the band from having to do it......

Next Saturday we'll be down in Kenosha at Coins sports bar. This is one of our favorite places to play because Mark the owner is a longtime friend of Bob's and he treats us all really well.  The crowds in Kenosha tend to get pretty crazy often resulting in public displays of nudity and perverse over consumption.  It's great fun to watch and partake in!  Well, we don’t take part in the nudity (OK.... Kevin HAS in the past but not THAT often) but we do get our hands in with the consumption part.  Its a really fun club and well worth the trip to experience the way “Kenoshans” party.

In closing we'd like to thank everyone for their continued support of Rhythm Method and Light Up. 2004 was the most successful year the band has ever had  - and we hope to make 2005 another milestone!

Thanks for reading,

Brent
