BRENT'S DIARY

Feb 13th, 2005

Greetings and welcome back to diary.  Sorry its been a while since I've updated it, but lot's of things have been going on coupled with Steve Fry (Soundman and Webmaster) being out of town so much that it probably couldn't have gotten posted anyway.

First on the list of new things - Rhythm Method and our friends Cherry Pie have formed a bit of a rock and roll coalition.  If you've been to either of our shows recently, you may have noticed the combined schedules featuring the upcoming dates for both bands laying on the tables and bar tops.  With this alliance it allows both bands to cover more ground with less promotion effort, plus it gives us a reason to do combined shows a few times a year!  Details on the first one should be revealed shortly.

In the world of RM and LU - our Summer festival season is filling up nicely and appears to be headed much in the same direction as last Summer - - BUSY!  Although we slowed our club performance schedule down a bit for this year, the Summer will be crazy as ever with many, many dates.

As far as gig recapping - we played at Coins in Kenosha about a month ago.  Another great crowd and great time was had by all. In a rare occurrence, the end of the night brought a stage full of people which is typically a big "not going to happen" in our band.  A lot of people wonder why - so I will touch on that.  With the amount of equipment we have on stage, the cost of that equipment, and 6 guys on stage with A LOT of it, the chance of catastrophe due to a spilled drink, trip over a cable, etc could be a very expensive "Ooops" - and one that we feel is too "likely" to happen so we generally avoid the risk.  Sorry!

Last weekend we made our debut at Bubs in Germantown.  A capacity crowd filled with enthusiasm made it a great way to break in to a new venue.  Thank you to everyone who made the drive and filled the place up!  The staff at Bubs were exceptional to work with and we're really looking forward to getting back to that room.  Special thanks to Nikki, Gail and Jen for reminding me that they don't receive nearly enough mentions in my diary. (Here you go ladies.)

This past weekend we took Light Up down to Optyx in Racine.  A much better crowd than the numbers Rhythm Method had a few months back.  Unfortunately, this was an "off" night for us.  Not one of our better performances to say the least.  Everyone has them, and it was our turn apparently. We'll be doing the Light Up show again in March at Rooters.  We promise to kick your ass that night.

Were off for a month....we'll be returning with some new material, we'll be much cuter, and Kev will only be performing in ladies panties from now on. We don't know why, but if it makes Kev comfy, we're all for it.
