BRENT'S DIARY
| |
September
26, 2004
Welcome to the diary. I'll be recapping four gigs in this
installment.
On September 17th, we played the annual Champps outdoor
celebration. We had a great crowd who apparently broke some
records on beer sales. Lots of friends came out and it turned
out be another very memorable gig for us. It sounds as though
we'll be back next year! Thanks to everyone at Champps for
being so accommodating.
On Saturday the 18th, we made our first club appearance of the
season at Optyx in Racine. This was our first time in this
room and that showed in the number of people. I think the 30
or so people who came out had a good time. Those that missed
the show didn’t get to witness Bobby and his impressive
array of mid 80's dance club moves which made appearances
several times throughout the evening. Not only a great singer,
he's also apparently capable of choreography......
This past weekend was another 2 nighter for us. Friday we did
the Light Up show at Harvest Fair on the State Fair grounds.
We followed the Barbeez who sounded great. The two previous
years we’ve played this festival we've had great turnouts
and this was no exception. Lots of familiar faces, tons of
friends and a great way to cap off our 2004 Summer season of
outdoor shows. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it
another successful event.
Saturday we were back indoors at Rooters for the first time
since the spring season. It was an average turnout of about
300, but it was good time anyway. It’s still early in the
season so as the weather gets worse, the crowds tend to get
better. We'll now be off for about 6 weeks and then it’s
back at it for a busy club season. Stay tuned as we'll be
launching the new website soon with all kinds of new stuff.
Thank You to everybody who helped make this summer so much
fun. We'll see you in a little over a month.
